B/W photography, 15 photographs, 50 x 70 cm each, 2017-2021
Through this series of photographs taken during the construction of the project before, during and after the contingency, I seek to establish a reflection on the interventions in the landscape, human constructions and the territory; the landscape transformations caused by infrastructure works are taken as a reference to problematize human intervention in a kind of counterpart of the current photography of progress and technological evolution of man, which occurs through the construction of tools by mankind: the machine.
Engineering, understood as the practice necessary for man to develop his civilization and progress, is analyzed through metaphors presented in the photographic series: the wound in the mountain represented by the tunnel, the cavern as the temple of worship of technology, the machine as the totem of progress, or industrial structures as the prosthesis that humans install on nature, are some of the symbolisms that are revealed.
